I am an Applied Researcher at , with years of experience bridging machine learning research and industry-focused applications. My work so far has centered on developing scalable and reproducible learning systems, primarily using PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Before joining eBay, I was a Lead Machine Learning Scientist at MetaDialog, where I worked on LLM research with diffusion models and built LLM-based agent systems with production oriented pipelines involving retrieval, ranking and knowledge graphs. Earlier, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Technische Universität Berlin, and a Machine Learning Researcher at the Center for Image Analysis (OGAM), Middle East Technical University.

I received my B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, where I also worked as a teaching and research assistant under the supervision of Prof. Dr. A. Aydın Alatan.

Combining theory with application, I have contributed to deep metric learning, image retrieval, knowledge distillation, learned image compression, recognition and detection, semantic segmentation, multi-target tracking, stereo matching, language modeling, and generative models. I value rigorous and reproducible research, especially when it solves real problems and amplifies the impact of the people and products around me.
