I am currently a Lead Machine Learning Research Scientist at MetaDialog, with 13+ years of experience merging academic advancements and real-world applications in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models. My work spans computer vision, retrieval/ranking, language modeling, and generative AI—focusing on scalable, reproducible solutions built in PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Before joining MetaDialog, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Remote Sensing Image Analysis Group (RSiM), Technische Universität Berlin (TUB). Prior to that, I served as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Center for Image Analysis (OGAM), Middle East Technical University (METU). Before, I was employed as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, METU, where I also completed my B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. A. Aydın Alatan.

Blending fundamental theory with practical implementations, I have contributed to a broad range of fields, including large language models, generative models, visual representation learning (deep metric learning), content-based image retrieval, knowledge distillation, learned image compression, recognition/detection, semantic segmentation, multi-target tracking, and stereo matching. By focusing on both core research and real-world impact, I strive to bridge academic advances with solutions that matter in production environments.
